OFFICE OF THE EXECUTIVE ENGINEER, IRRIGATION DIVISION

This Division Office is functioning under Irrigation North Circle, Kozhikode, which is functioning under Chief Engineer, Irrigation & Administration, Thiruvananthapuram.  Two Sub Divisions, namely, Irrigation Sub Division, Thalassery and Irrigation Sub Division, Kannur are functioning under this Division and there are six Section Offices functioning under the Sub Division Offices.  Irrigation Section Thalassery, ASE Section Thalassery and ASE Section Kannur are the Section Offices functioning under Irrigation Sub Division Thalassery.  Irrigation Section Kannur, Irrigation Section Kattampally, and Irrigation Section Payyannur are the Section Offices functioning under Irrigation Sub Division Kannur.

            The area of jurisdiction of this office is the Kannur Revenue District.  Length of 62.50 km seacoast from Ettikulam at the North to Mahe in the South comes under the jurisdiction of this office.  Construction of new seawall and renovation and repair of existing seawall etc.  in the above reach and protection of major rivers and its main tributaries in Kannur District comes under the purview of this Division Office.

            Side protection works of major rivers and main tributaries, construction of Regulators cum Bridge, Check Dams and VCBs across them and works related to Harithakeralam Mission, Kanampuzha Rejuvenation in Kannur Corporation, flood relief works etc. are the main functions of this office.  Issue of permit for laying pipe line (KWA) along project area and registration of ‘C’ Class contractors also come under the purview of this Division Office.
