          Labour Department is entrusted with the  responsibility to Maintain  industrial Peace and amity as well as to ensure statutory protection to the workers.  Enforcement wing of the Department ensures prescribed statutory rights such as limited working time, Leave, Payment of Wages, Maternity Benefits, Retirement Benefit etc.  Industrial Disputes between employees and employers are settled through the conciliatory mechanism functioning under the department.
